The Main Lodge has three bedrooms (one a bunk room that sleeps 6) and will
comfortably sleep 10. There is a separate heated Bunk
House with stove and sink. This private island cabin has a knotty pine
interior and a cedar exterior. A walking trail surrounds the
island and an eagle's nest on the island is visible from the trail. The main dock
offers an incredible vantage point to view the kids swimming or just
relax and tan during the day. We offer a terrific
setting for you to have your family reunion, annual fishing trip or just
vacation with your family. There is a large swimming area, with
plenty of room for you to use your paddleboat, kayak, play in our game room,
walk around the island, play water sports,
or just relax.
With a public landing in
the town of Orr and your own boat (or you can rent one from the local
resorts) you'll have access to the island and all that the lake
provides, including fishing, hunting, or just relaxing with your family
and friends. This is truly a special place for your vacation with
incredible views of the lake and the north woods.
Pelican Lake is well known for it's ease of Crappie and
Bluegill fishing for kids of all ages and is also a great game fish lake
with Walleye, Largemouth & Small mouth Bass and Northern Pike. In
the miles of surrounding State land you will find excellent hunting for
ruffed grouse, Black bear, and whitetail deer.
Pelican Lake has many attractions to offer for your family
vacation. What a great way to view the gateway to Voyageurs
National Park and the BWCA. Bring your golf clubs. There are many golf
courses to choose from nearby. The kids will enjoy feeding the deer at
Cold Springs Deer farm. Feeling adventurous? Visit the Vince Shute
Wildlife Sanctuary just outside of Orr. There you can see the wild Black
Bear in their natural habitat up close and personal - don't forget
your cameras. Or visit the International Wolf Center - as seen on the
Disney channel- to view Timber wolves which are native to this area.
